When in the Navy of course I wore boots in the performance of my job. After the Navy working for a DOD contractor in Virgina again I wore boots or really safety boots. Basically in the work I do now I have been wearing Electrical Hazard composite toe boots a very long time in my work. What I am getting at here is about fifteen years ago I contracted toe fungus in both of my big toes and I tried all sorts of home remedies such as soaking my feet in vinegar.

Well I was talking with my youngest brother a little over a month ago and he expressed what he did to treat his foot odor. I personally have never had that issue. But he put baking soda in his boots each day and the foot odor went away. But he also said that a side effect he noticed was his toenail fungus was going away too.

So I started putting a heaping tablespoon of baking soda in my boots each night swirling it around to cover the inside bottom of my boots. The next morning I invert the boot over the trashcan and remove any loose baking soda putting the boots on and going to work. Well the toe fungus is gone from my left foot altogether and my right is getting there. The big toenail had came off on the right foot but I can see new nail coming out at the cuticle.

I know that a warm damp dark environment can promote toe fungus and I surmise that baking soda removes that dampness. That dampness lead to my brother's foot odor and apparently eliminated what toe fungus needed to survive. It amazes me all the products out there to treat toe fungus on the feet and baking soda does it. We do not know about this because if we did we would stop buying those products.

This is exactly why my whole food plant based diet works and people aren't told about it. I get a physical once a year and my doctor praises me for my health and my blood tests. But they only get a physical out of me once a year. Sure a doctor will tell you what you should eat but what they will not do is direct you to cheap resources as to how to do it. They may send you to a dietitian but they also need to make money. Just search whole food plant based diet and you can find out a lot for free. But do not fall into the trap of plant based foods in grocery stores. Read the ingredient list and look for a lot of sodium and oil. Ingredient list should have no more than five listed. If not it is too processed. Yes you will need to cook more but with restaurant prices now, it is a lot cheaper. When I started the diet there was not a huge offering of information on the Internet but now it is opening up big time.

The word is getting out on a lot of things. There so much we can do for a better life if we just ask.

By the way, my brother and I are even now in that I told him about yellow mustard for cramps and he told me about baking soda for toenail fungus.

And the baking soda left on my socks probably softens my wash water resulting in the detergent working better.
