I mentioned in another post that I regularly go to CNN's website because I think their site isn't as "loud" as other news sites. What I mean is the page is more coherent or more pleasing to me in how they lay it out. But I have no idea how long they have been doing this because I do not do the behavior very often. If you are watching a video on their site and then open another tab going to another site wishing to listen to the video in the background the video pauses. It however does not happen if you open another window or another browser instance. But what is wrong with me listening to a video while I am doing something else? YouTube doesn't do it and I have no idea if any other site does. It just seems very counter intuitive to me. Is it to drive participation or increase ad revenue? I have no idea why they do it but it is very wrong in my opinion. Why or how does this make sense? I guess I could rant on about this but it just infuriates me due to the idiot decision somebody who makes a whole lot more money than I do made that impacts how I use their site. CNN if you pause my video I am deleting the tab. If you come to your senses it will be very obvious to me when you do it because I will be able to still hear the video in the background. What is wrong with you?
