I was watching a YouTube video today where the author was discussing Neoliberalism. But she was correlating it to self-help. While I do agree that self-help as far as physical appearance and our success in society is Neoliberalistic in nature, it can be directly counterintuitive to exploitation of the mind. I have explored a great deal in regard to my mind and it has lead to a better me. But that exploration was never about me so how can it be Neoliberalistic in nature? Exploitation of the mind by many can be seen as self-help, but it is related to intent. Earlier I talked about an ego deletion I did years ago and, although I entered into it as a form of self-help, it resulted in the compete opposite. I destroyed my mechanism of self identity, my ego, so the self-help turned into love for everyone and everything else. It solidified my empathy and made me a better person. So to say that self-help is Neoliberalistic in nature, I say that it is related to intent. Everything else in our lives can be reduced to our intent. Where you place that intent is what makes us who we are. Altering your physical appearance for someone you love is about your intent. You can never believe it is about you.
